2012–2013 Charities Appeal Wrap-Up
From Western Catholic Reporter: “Edmonton's Father Bonner Council, which operates out of St. Thomas More Church, has been highly successful for nine years, with its members selling more tickets than any other council in the Alberta, Northwest Territories jurisdiction, some years by more than double”. - Paul Froment, retiring Charities Appeal Chairman.
Did you make a difference?
If you sold ten books in the recent Charities Appeal campaign, you made a huge difference. If you took just one book to sell or buy for yourself you made a difference. Every one of you who either bought books or sold books or took shifts at the malls made a difference. What difference?
Father Bonner Council 7599 sold more books than any other council, and we beat the second-place council by just ten books.
It was a long campaign, and a lot of hard work, but I want to offer a huge vote of thanks to everyone who took part in any way. Last year we set a new record at $20,500.00 and this year we set an even higher record at $23,200.00, beating the second-place council by just $200, or ten books. What an achievement! We will be able to complete our $25,000.00 pledge to the Cornerstone of Faith with money left over for other projects.
Thanks also to team leaders, Arnold Lorenz, Paul Liber, Ken Shivak and Wally Streit.
