Prayer for Council Intentions

Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts.

We also pray in earnest for those who have departed from this life. Receive the souls of our departed brothers and sisters and show them Your mercy. Forgive their offenses, whether voluntary or involuntary so that they may join You in Your eternal kingdom.

Finally Lord, grant the special petitions of your servants - those spoken aloud and those held in our hearts.  Grant these requests as Your wisdom dictates and Your will desires.

All of this we ask through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns together with You and Your holy and life-giving Spirit. Amen.
