ALBERTA KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

Worthy District Deputies, Grand Knights and Faithful Navigators,

Earlier this year, we mailed out an appeal to 16,000 members in Alberta asking them to please donate to the Charitable Foundation to assist us to meet the requests we receive from numerous charitable organizations. The campaign has been successful in that we have raised approximately twelve thousand ($12,000.00) after expenses. However, these funds were contributed by less than two per cent of the members canvassed and it gives us pause to think what we could realize if say five or six percent responded. To those that have already contributed, we wish to express our sincere thanks and gratitude for your generosity and we will remember you in our prayers. Those that we help will be even more appreciative and thankful for your assistance.

This is your Foundation and we are doing our best to help as many organizations as possible. These include St. Mary’s University College, St, Joseph’s Seminary, Newman College, Camp Cadicasu, John Bosco Homes, Camp Encounter, Natural Family Planning, a number of women’s shelters, food banks, numerous Parishes, youth organizations and many other deserving causes. The needs seem to increase each year and this is why we need your help and support.

We are asking the Grand Knights, the District Deputies and Faithful Navigators to bring this matter to the attention of your members at your meetings and seminars. It is not too late to contribute and we accept all donations, no matter the amount, large or small. Every individual donor will receive a donation receipt to claim on their income tax return. If you have misplaced the brochure we mailed containing the donation form, please contact your District Deputy,your local Council, Assembly or the State Office. Another one can be provided to you, to assist you in responding.
