Grand Knight’s message — November 2014
Brother Knights, Ladies, and families,
This past month, we held our fall membership drive. I had the opportunity to take in the First Degree Exemplification as we initiated a dozen new Brother Knights into our Order, ten of them as members of our Council. Please join me in welcoming our new Knights! It was a privilege to hear again the First Degree Exemplification and its lesson on Charity, the first principle of the Knights. Brothers, don’t forget that you are welcome to attend the First Degree as well. And while on this subject, I want to recognise our First Degree Exemplification Team for the excellent work they do.
Our annual Charities Appeal campaign has kicked off. (See article in this newsletter.) We’ll be distributing ticket books the weekend of Nov. 29/30. The Advent season is a great opportunity to support this program.
The grocery card program continues with steady growth. Since everyone needs to buy groceries, why not purchase your grocery cards through us? If paying by cash or debit, it costs you no money and when you’re at the grocery store, paying by grocery cards is the fastest and most convenient method. You can also help us out by becoming part of the sales team. Training is provided and is not difficult.
As Catholic gentlemen, don’t forget that the best way we can help out is through our prayers. My fiancée Stephanie and I are members of the St. Thomas More Rosary Circles (see article below). Please consider joining and adding your prayers we offer up to God for the intentions of youth, family, and vocations in our parish community.
As we come to the end of the liturgical year, let us be ever thankful for the blessings God has so generously bestowed on us, but not forget to share his gifts with our neighbours.
Fraternally yours,
Bro. Jeremy Sit
Grand Knight
