Happy New Year to you and to your families. I hope you had a happy and blessed Christmas and if you travelled, I hope you had a safe journey.

We are embarking on the last phase of the Charities Appeal with ticket sales in both Bonnie Doon and Southgate Malls. Thanks to Koch Ford for the loan of a Lincoln to display at our ticket booths. If you wish to volunteer for a shift selling tickets, call Arnold Lorenz at (780) 988-5634. Shifts are only three hours in length, and taking a shift is a good way to fulfil your obligations for volunteering.

The Seniors' Christmas Social was a great success. Many thanks to all of those who helped put on this popular event, and a special thanks to Jeannette Liber and her friends who did the cooking.  Without all of this assistance, the event just wouldn't have happened.

We have ordered and received ceremonial sashes which will give us a new visibility on special occasions.

The photos of Past Grand Knights will soon be moved between the display case and the hall entrance. Father Andrew requested they be moved from the present location as the wall space where they are currently displayed is needed for other things.

I want to wish you and your families all the best for 2012 and beyond. Let's collectively make the new year productive as we strive to help charities and the less fortunate.
