Summer
holidays are just a memory and the kids are back in school. We
are well into the new Columbian Year with many projects awaiting our
best efforts. The world revolves around volunteerism, and the Knights of
Columbus are renowned for their good works.
We
have received our allotment of Charities Appeal Raffle ticket books, and
some members of our Council have already taken some to sell. We all can
do our part on this important project. We all have family, neighbours, colleagues
and friends to whom we could sell tickets.
It's not difficult to do. This is our largest fund-raising event of the
year, which gives us a large amount of money for the charities that we support.
When you are called, please
give serious consideration to taking a few books to sell. If every member was
to do so, the result would be a huge success to our project.
Do you know a man who is a member of our parish, but is not a member of the Knights of Columbus? Why not invite him to join us? Some men have never been asked to become a Knight, and should you be successful in convincing a man to join, it would be a source of great satisfaction to you as you would have helped a man become stronger in his faith, and a strong member of our Parish community.
