Greetings Brothers,

 

Now that 2009 is here and we all are making resolutions, let us not forget about the Church and our Council and resolve to become more active in both. There are Ministries and Council programs that are always looking for more volunteers. Please keep this in mind.

 

Congratulations to Brothers Arnold Lorenz, Real Demers and the Seniors Social committee who once again put on another sold out event. 

 

On Dec 20th the annual Christmas Hamper delivery took place in our city. I would like to thank all the Brothers and their families who participated in this Worthy cause. I would be remiss if I didn’t send out a special thanks to Real and Blandine Demers who volunteered a great deal of time before, during and after the deliveries. I encourage all Brothers of our Council to take part in the deliveries next year.

 

On Dec 12th our annual Christmas luncheon took place in the Chapter room. The lunch was attended by Father Sylvain, David Matwie and 31 members of our Council, who enjoyed a great meal and great Fraternity. Thank you to all who attended and to Bro Paul Liber for organizing this event.

 

Our Council will be holding the 49th annual State Curling Bonspiel on March 13, 14 & 15, at the Saville Sport Center. The curling committee will be looking for volunteers for this event, please consider volunteering when asked.

 

The Pasta Night Supper will take place February 14th with ticket sales starting this month. This is an -annual event and is well attended by our Council and the Parish community. To purchase tickets or if you are able to help out contact Brother Arnold Lorenz at 780-988-5634 or at ahlorenz@telus.net.

 

Are you feeling that you have more to offer your Council? There are positions on the Executive and in our Programs that are available. Contact one of the Executive or Program Director if you wish to let you name stand.

 

Charities Appeal ticket sales are in full swing with the Southgate and Bonnie Doon malls already booked. The committee is currently looking for time slots to be filled, contact Bro. Anthony White at 780-439-7265 or at ajwhite1@telus.net to volunteer.
