Greetings Brothers,
As our Columbian year comes to a close, I would like to thank all my Brother Knights and their families who volunteered or participated in the programs and events that our Council and other Councils have provided during the past year. I would also be remiss if I did not congratulate the Program Directors and the Chairs for providing those events. Thank you very much for all your hard work and efforts.
On May 27th Brother Noel Day and District Deputy Lou Normand held the orientation hour for our new Brother Knights. Brother Lou chaired the presentation that was very informative, and saw 13 Brother Knights attend.
On June 7th our Family program will offer their final event for this Columbian year. Once again the paintball venue has been arranged. This event is a lot of fun for ages 10 years and up. For more information contact Bro. Wayne Zuchotzki at 437-4464.
On June 14th our annual Awards Night Banquet will take place in the Parish hall after the 5:00pm Mass. Typically the installation of Council Officers takes place before the supper, but this year our D.D. Brother Lou will be in Red Deer. Our installation will take place later in June. The meal will include BBQ steak, potato, salad and dessert. Tickets are only $15.00 each. I encourage you all to attend with your spouses.
Our Council meeting will take place on June 10th in the Chapter room after the 7:00 mass. The election of the Council Officers will follow a short meeting. After the meeting there will be snack trays as well as nonalcoholic beverages provided. As at the December meeting there will be multiple gift card prizes for the Pennies for Heaven draw. Come join us for the last meeting, and some good fraternity.
The Nominees for your Council Executive for the 2008-2009 year are:
Grand Knight – Rob Liber

The Father Bonner Charity Golf Tournament will be held in September again this year at Cougar Creek Golf Resort. This event last year was well attended and raised over $21,000.00 for a very worthy charity. The committee will be looking for volunteers and golfers. If you are able participate, contact Brother Ken Schwartz.
As the new Columbian year approaches I challenge you Brothers, new and veteran, to become more active within your Council and Church. There are several events that our Programs offer that you can participate in, and they succeed because of the participation of the veteran Brothers who have shown us the way. The time is now, to step forward and bring fresh ideas to the Council, to implement new programs and events that will increase enthusiasm throughout the membership. Remember “The more the hands the smaller the task.”
Now that summer is finally here I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy summer vacation. For those of you who will be travelling, may the Lord keep you safe while you are away, and bring you safely home.
God Bless
Rob Liber, Grand Knight
