Brother Knights as we enter November I would like you contemplate how close word “remembrance” is tied to November. I would like you to think of ways to put remembrance in to action. Some opportunities will be to attend a Remembrance Day service to pray for and celebrate the lives lost defending freedom, attend a mass and pray for and celebrate our departed brother nights and their families and pledge your time as either a volunteer or attendee of Padre Night to show support to our clergy and remember those that have departed us.
Our district is putting on Padre Night, November 27 at St Theresa’s Parish. Bro. Lou Normand and Bro. Rob Liber are putting this event together so please support them and any requests they may have. I have two tickets available for $35 each. The plan is to have a council table with our clergy.
November is the kickoff month for Charities Appeal. I still do not have a volunteer to chair this year’s effort. As the Chair you will direct the efforts of a team to sell tickets, move the car from the dealer to the mall, and collect the funds. This may sound like a lot of work however; there are volunteers that will perform the heavy lifting. If you have questions, please contact me or Bro. Paul Liber.
I look forward to seeing you all at the November general meeting Tuesday, November 10 mass at 7:00 PM and meeting starts at 7:30 PM. There will be non alcoholic beverages available by donation to pennies for heaven after the meeting.
