At the Alberta / NWT State Convention which was held in Calgary last weekend, it was announced that Brother Real Demers of Father Bonner Council 7599 was to be awarded the great honour of Knight of the Year. It is a well-deserved award, as Real is pretty much a full-time volunteer. From acting as acolyte, Minister of the Eucharist, Usher, team leader for Pancake Breakfasts, team leader for the annual Pasta Night and Seniors' Social, team leader for Christmas hampers, the list of his achievements goes on and on. Real drives the truck for Saint Vincent de Paul, and helps deliver furniture and other goods to the needy. Father Bonner Council and our Parish are blessed to have Real Demers (and his wife Blandine) as volunteers who contribute so much to our parish.
