Each year, Fr. Bonner council provides financial assistance to a seminarian on their journey towards the priesthood. This year we have sponsored Nelson Boren, currently studying at Newman Theological College. Earlier this month he attended the council social evening where he was presented with a cheque by Grand Knight Morris Baraniecki.
In a followup email to Bro. Wally Streit, Nelson wrote:
Hello Brother Wally,
Thank you for the opportunity and I am glad that I was able to listen to your inspiring talk this evening about the housing projects of the Habitat for Humanity. It's my first time to attend the K of C meeting and I learned something from your sharing.
Thank you too for the token that I received from the K of C and that was a surprise for me. This will be a big help for my personal needs in my studies in the seminary.
May the good Lord continue to bless your ministry in building lives especially the help that you share to the disadvantaged members of the community. I am one in praying with you as you also pray for my vocation to the priesthood.
I will be completing my studies at St. Joseph Seminary and Newman Theological College until June and I will be going back to the Archdiocese of St. John's in July for my parish internship, and hopefully, I will be ordained deacon in December, God willing!
Once again, thank you for your prayers! God bless you always!
